Since the Gloucester 100 set has arrived at the Midland Railway Centre the biggest job which has been tackled has been the removal of the interior and then stripping of the blue asbestos insulation. This has enabled a detailed assessement of the set to be made. |

As can be seen in this photo the outside bodywork of both cars is severely corroded and the decision has been taken to completely repanel both cars from the waist down. This will take some time to do. |

Inside the vehicles the asbestos strip has revealed severe corrosion to body members which will have to be dealt with before the cars can be repanelled. |

This is the current state of play inside these two cars. All the original woodwork and fittings were salvaged and are in stock so the rebuild should not be as bad a job as the Wickham. |
