The hybrid Cravens 105/Derby 127 set has worked together at the Llangollen Railway for 25 years. The leading vehicle in this photo, Cravens 56456, is to be completely rebuilt starting in 2010 and is seen here at Garth-y-Dwr working from Carrog to Llangollen. (Chris Moxon)

The small halt at Deeside sees few passengers but in this case the Wickham 109 unit, 50416/56171, was working a bio-diversity train and had made a special stop so that passengers could go and view otters at this remote location. (Ian Bradbury)

Repainted into early British Railways blue livery for the 2009 season the class 104 unit, 50528/50454, is seen here shortly after leaving Glyndyfrdwy on a Carrog-Llangollen working. (David Dawson)

The class 108 unit with trailer 54490 leading rattles across the Dee Bridge at Pentrefelin, with about a mile and a half left to complete its journey to Llangollen. (Roger Gurney)

The same unit is seen here going back up the valley and is slowing for the signals at Glyndyfrdwy station, which are just round the corner from where the unit now is. The SW sign on the left of the track tells the driver to Sound the Whistle. (Chris Moxon)

The class 141 unit is seen here at the Midland Railway-Butterley, where it is on loan, with vehicle 55533 leading. It is parked on the Butterley Branch, which used to serve the Butterley ironworks until recently. This was the ironworks which made the girders for many famous stations, such as St Pancras in London. Behind is our Gloucester 100 trailer 56097 which waits patiently for the money to be available for its restoration. (Elizabeth Harland)
